Ebonylife TV unveils On Demand service for Africa
Nigeria's channel Ebonylife TV has partnered with Summview, a Video-on-Demand (VoD) enabler, to launch a new VoD service for African viewers.
The channel is one of the most watched on DSTv across Africa where it is also hosted. The company says they are ranked 24 out of a total of 137 channels on DSTv.
Users willing to subscribe to the VoD service will part with US$4.99 dollars a month or US$39.99 per year for unlimited service over their tablets, laptop and smartphones.
The partnership also hopes to reach out to the African Diaspora to have access to African entertainment.
"With this Premium SVoD platform EbonyLife TV expands its range of services and mobile applications and provides the African Diaspora subscribers, outside of Africa, an innovative offering of premium quality content made in Nigeria for the World. The 'one stop shop' offer of Summview allowed mastering the costs and securing the roll-out," Mo Abudu, Executive Chairman and CEO of EbonyLife TV said.
France-based Summview will offer the content delivery service platform to EbonyLife. The company has worked with MTN and Etisalat to support VoD services across Africa.
