MTN donates security vehicles to Nigeria’s Akwa Ibom state
Security patrol vehicles have been donated to Nigeria’s Akwa Ibom state by the MTN Foundation.
The MTN Foundation is the mobile operator’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme in the West African country.
It seeks to help improve the quality of life in areas of health, education and economic empowerment on a sustainable basis.
And MTN Foundation senior manager for Nigeria's eastern region, Onamari Horsfall, has said that the foundation has provided 60 security patrol vehicles to the Federal Capital Territory and elevated some states including Akwa Ibom.
“We are fulfilling the promise I made to Nigerians when the MTN Foundation was established in 2004 to improve the quality of lives in host communities,” he said.
Inaugurating the vehicles, secretary to the state government, Udom Emmanuel, said his administration placed great premium on the security of its citizens and investors.
MTN Nigeria has over 50 million subscribers in the country.
