Nigeria and India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) ahead of the G-20 summit focusing on digital solutions, including establishing a stronger edu-tech ecosystem.

This week, India will host the G20 Leaders' Summit, with 43 heads of delegation attending in New Delhi.

President Bola Tinubu is leading the Nigerian team, which met yesterday with senior Indian government officials and business executives.

At the occasion, Nigeria's minister of communications, innovation, and digital economy, Bosun Tijani, spoke about entrepreneurship as a driver of increasing investment.

"Collaboration between our countries gives us a platform to build on the upward trajectory of digital transformation as a driver of economic growth," he said

Tijani also stated that he and his colleague at India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology had inked an MoU to share digital solutions for the benefit of both countries' citizens.

"I also signed an MOU with the Central Square Foundation team to collaborate on building a stronger EdTech ecosystem. These measures are made feasible by the President's vision for economic progress and prosperity for all Nigerians."

The collaboration between Nigeria and India on digital solutions comes as President Tinubu's government seeks to create one million jobs in the digital economy and to improve the digital literacy of youngsters.

"The Nigerian delegation spent some time with a gathering of India's business community at a conference to discuss areas of cooperation between our countries," Tijani explained.
