Mzuzu E-Hub, a social venture in Malawi, is establishing a network of entrepreneurs who are developing technological solutions to promote job creation and poverty eradication.

According to Mzuzu E-Hub Litness Chaima, communication and engagement Manager, the firm is developing skills to increase the competitiveness of Malawi's ICT sector.

According to Chaima, ICTs are becoming increasingly valuable economic tools for entrepreneurs in poor nations, and empowering youth is critical for development.

"We facilitate this by transferring skills and knowledge, sharing information, and providing access to resources, opportunities, and networking platforms. Bizcubation and Media Information and Literacy Education: MILE are Mzuzu E-hub's two flagship programmes," she explained.

The computer programming instruction focuses on Python, which is also a popular computer coding language. The learners are able to exhibit coding abilities as well as construct simple applications and use them for financial independence at the end of the course.

"Because we have 60 computers distributed, each cohort can only accommodate 40 participants over the course of three months. This means that in three months, we can only train 120 youths out of an applicant pool of over 800," she continues.
