Aside from keeping track of their personal records, Cameroon says the new program will assist eliminate bottlenecks in administrative processes.

Cameroon is completing the design of a new software package for integrated management of state employees and the public-sector salary bill.

In order to combat fraud, particularly ghost workers and chronic absenteeism, the current SIGIPES II system will be replaced by the Application Informatique de Gestion Logique des Effectifs et de la Solde (AIGLES).

Joseph Le, Minister of public service and administrative reforms, stated that they have been conducting mock testing of the new AIGLES software package since January 2, 2024, with 13 out of 14 software modules responding positively.

He stated that they will run AIGLES in tandem with SIGIPES II, finish the integration of data relevant to government departments with special status, and finalize the commissioning of the 14th module.

The use of AIGLES is projected to drastically transform public-sector worker management and allow them to effortlessly track their career files from any mobile device.

According to the project's coordinator, Dr. Christian Lopez Atouba, the AIGLES program will have a biometrics component that would allow workers to be identified who leave their duty posts for greener pastures abroad while still receiving state payroll payments.
