VIDEO: Juliet Ehimuan bets on digital economy to propel Africa

18 Sep 2023

In a wide-ranging discussion, ITWeb Africa editor, Samuel Mungadze, recently chatted to Juliet Ehimuan, founder of Beyond Limits and former director of Google West Africa, about digital transformation in telecoms, infrastructure, policy, investments, digital skills, Internet access, tech hubs, and more.

Ehimuan told ITWeb Africa that digital transformation is gaining traction on the continent as more people connect, and that there has been a tremendous year-on-year increase in Africans going online, which has opened new opportunities, particularly in the digital economy.

“We should fully continue to lean on technology, African governments should continue to look at enabling the environment, accelerate and stimulate growth of the digital economy. The Internet needs to be a lot more affordable and available for the average user in Africa. There is a lot of work for governments to stimulate investments and help develop infrastructure,” she said.
