Safaricom has rescheduled its system maintenance for a later date, having earlier announced that it would take place between Sunday night and Monday morning.

The company has announced in an earlier consumer notice that the maintenance will be performed to improve the user experience.

The maintenance was scheduled for Sunday night, July 14th, and Monday, July 15th, from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

According to the operator, the period was picked so that customers would not be inconvenienced. However, the system maintenance has been scheduled for an undisclosed later date.

"The scheduled system maintenance later this evening has been rescheduled to a later date," Safaricom informed customers.

Safaricom is Kenya's largest mobile operator, with 47 million users with a 67.7% market share.
