Africa's largest telco MTN Group releases first People Report
MTN Group, Africa's largest telecom operator, today published its inaugural People Report.
This comes as the company celebrates 30 years of providing connectivity across Africa.
MTN Group employs about 17,500 people across 18 markets, representing more than 70 nationalities and languages.
The company said the inaugural People Report covers and explores trends shaping the HR landscape in Africa, and showcases "innovative practices that have enabled us to create an inspired life for our people."
MTN Group president and CEO, Ralph Mupita, said, "This inaugural people report pays homage to our people, our 'doers' and difference makers who are driving Africa forward."
He continued: "Our people are our greatest asset. This report is a celebration of their unique spirit, the vibrant 'Y'ello' culture, and the incredible impact we've made together over the past 30 years."
Paul Norman, MTN Group chief human resources officer, added: “MTN has been built by thousands of passionate and talented people who have walked this journey with us. We are what we are because of our dedicated and inspired MTNers… Through this report, we hope to share with you the essence of our people, our culture and our organisation.”
According to Norman, MTN has been transforming its workplace culture over the past three years, establishing an environment in which "employees can bring their authentic selves to work every day."
