Zimbabwe will celebrate International Women's Day this month by highlighting women who are breaking barriers in technology, from coders and engineers to entrepreneurs and policymakers.

“Your work drives innovation and transforms societies. Whether through ground breaking Artificial Intelligence research, inclusive digital policies, or grassroots tech education, women are proving that technology thrives when diverse voices lead“Yet, we know the journey is not without hurdles. Gender gaps in STEM education, underrepresentation in leadership and systemic biases persist,” said Tatenda Mavetera, minister of ICT, postal and courier services (ICTPCS).She went on to say: “As your minister of ICTPCS, I reaffirm our commitment to dismantling these barriers through a lot of programs including the She Tech Initiative.“We are expanding access to ICT scholarships, scaling mentorship programs for young women and funding initiatives that empower female-led tech startups. Together, we will build a sector where talent not gender defines opportunity.”She added: “To every woman in ICT: Keep pushing boundaries. Let us celebrate how far we have come and boldly pursue the progress ahead. The future of ICT is brighter because of you. Here’s to a world where every girl can see herself as a tech pioneer.“

International Women's Day is a holiday celebrated annually on the 8 of March, as a focal point in the women's rights movement.
