Airtel Money has partnered with insurance provider Britam and InsurTech startup Inclusivity Solutions to provide insurance coverage to millions of Kenyans who cannot afford insurance.

Airtel customers are required to enter the USSD code *334# to gain access to Hospital Cash, Last Expense (Funeral), and Personal Accident policies, or any combination of the three.

Through this partnership, the parties hope to reach millions of Kenyans who lack access to formal insurance and provide them with protection against a variety of hazards that imperil their livelihoods and well-being, Evah Kimani, director of partnerships and digital at Britam, stated.

The Hospital Cash cover offers policyholders a daily cash benefit of $3.48 per day for up to 30 days per year.

Monthly premiums start at $0.24 for individuals and $1.18 for families up to four members.

Last Expense cover and Personal Accident cover premiums commence at $0.28 per month for individuals and $1.04 and $1.19 per month for families of up to four members.

During the launch, the managing director of Airtel Money Kenya, Anne Kinuthia - Otieno, said: "We are delighted to offer our customers insurance in partnership with Britam Kenya and Inclusivity Solutions. Airtel Money is being utilised to make the insurance industry more accessible, efficient, and user-friendly. This partnership aligns with our mission to extend financial inclusion and offer more affordable financial products and services to our customers."

The chief executive officer of Inclusivity Solutions, Indira Gopalakrishna, expressed her delight at the partnership.
