As the market for cloud services in South Africa heats up, Mpilo Technologies has announced that it has gained select partner status with Amazon Web Services (AWS), allowing it to tap into the US-based company's cloud solutions.

The status grants MpiloTech access to a wide range of resources, training, and support, allowing the company to create and implement customized cloud solutions using AWS's entire suite of services, which includes compute, storage, databases, machine learning, and analytics.

Sizwe Mabanga, executive - cloud and app modernization at Mpilo Technologies, stated, "With AWS, we are well-equipped to provide scalable, secure, and reliable cloud services that meet the evolving needs of our customers."

The company's AWS status comes as the cloud computing market in South Africa is predicted to grow at a compound annual growth rate of more than 26% between 2023 and 2028, totaling R113 billion.

According to a recent report by Africa Analysis, a South African-based ICT market research and analysis company.

According to the firm, the majority of the increase is being driven by numerous enterprises and government institutions pursuing digital transformation to become cloud-first organizations in order to improve their business priorities and outcomes. Large investments by global cloud hyperscalers in South Africa also help to drive market expansion.
