TiGo Ghana slashes its internet tariffs

Ghana’s fourth largest mobile network operator TiGo has slashed its ‘Pay-As-You-Go’ internet tariffs, in a bid to boost internet connectivity.

Grace Boateng, TiGo Ghana, brands communication and consumer head, said the move was aimed at enabling customers on Pay-As-You-Go, to experience communication through low internet and mobile rates.

Boateng also said the tariffs were reduced by a 80%, less than a month after launching "unlimited internet" package, which brought the lowest data tariffs to customers in that country.

"By this, TiGo is giving all its customers who have not subscribed to any of TiGo’s internet packages, the opportunity to browse the internet at 80% discount,” said Boateng.

Tenu Awoonor, head of marketing at TiGo Ghana, echoed the same sentiments, saying the mobile network's intention was to allow customers to choose a mobile network of their choice, which would give them the opportunity to browse the internet for as long as they wanted at affordable rates.

"We promised and we have delivered, TiGo will continue to provide quality network, excellent data packages and services which are affordable, accessible and available for all," said Awoonor.
