Flutterwave accepts American Express cards in Nigeria
Flutterwave, a pay-tech company, announced that merchants in Nigeria can now accept American Express payments.
The fintech company stated that this development allows American Express card members in Nigeria to make payments directly to e-commerce businesses using Flutterwave.
Tanzania, Rwanda, Ghana, and Uganda will soon join Nigeria as users of the feature.
Olugbenga Agboola, founder and CEO of Flutterwave, lauded the relationship that allows Flutterwave merchants to reach a new client base consisting of American Express Card Members in Africa and around the world
“This is one of our initiatives to ensure that more people across the world can pay using Flutterwave in Africa. We understand the value of providing shoppers with payment methods that work for them, as well as helping businesses to expand their customer bases,” he said.
The agreement broadens American Express's global network and enhances the number of locations in Africa where cardholders can purchase any kind of goods and services.
