MTN Cameroon’s new CEO means business
Current CEO of MTN Rwanda, Mitwa Ng’ambi, has been appointed as the new CEO of MTN Cameroon effective 1 September 2022, as announced by the company’s Chairman Colin Mukete.
Ng’ambi will take over from Stephen Blewett, who has led the telco’s operations in Cameroon since 1 August 2020. Blewett is leaving the MTN Group.
The company says Zambian telecommunications specialist Ng’ambi brings with her over ten years of leadership experience within the industry and will help solidify MTN’s leadership position in Cameroon.
According to the MTN Group, Ng’ambi has led industry transformative initiatives to help achieve digital penetration and financial inclusion.
During her tenure at MTN Rwanda Ng’ambi has overseen the company’s listing on the local stock exchange and also the establishment of its Fintech subsidiary.
Mukete added, “We wish her success in her new role as we execute our ambition 2025 strategic priorities.”
Ng’ambi has also previously worked at MTN Benin and MTN Zambia.
She joined MTN Rwandacell PLC in October 2019 from Airtel Tigo Ghana where she served as Chief Executive, and before that she held the position of CEO at Tigo Senegal.
Ng’ambi holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of Namibia and a Masters Degree in Computer Science from the University of Joensuu, Finland.
