Intel partners with Kenya’s iHub
Nairobi technology hub and business incubator, iHub, has announced a partnership with chip-maker Intel, in a move aimed at growing the local tech community.
The partnership is planned to help train developers and scale up mobile apps, while also developing collaborations among universities, tech hubs and developer communities across the continent.
iHub says it has just over 10,000 members in Kenya. iHub comprises of a coworking space that focuses on growing the tech community by connecting people, supporting start-ups and surfacing information.
Intel’s executive vice president, David Perlmutter, has said that his company plans to work “more closely with developers all over Africa”
“Intel views developers as their biggest partners. People buy devices because of the apps,” he said.
