Telkom SA goes global with Pocket size mobile Wi-Fi

Telkom Business this week launched its new Pocket Wi-Fi solution offering businesses mobile data connectivity in over 140 countries across the globe.

In a statement the company describes the Pocket Wi-Fi as "a portable, pocket-sized mobile hotspot that business people can travel with and use for global internet access."

The mobile hotspot can connect up to 10 devices – smartphones, tablets and laptops – to the internet via 3G connectivity.

Telkom says the device is being offered at R599 per month over 24 months and includes 10GB of international data, made up of 34 daily 300MB data bundles, as well as 2GB of local data per month.

"When customers have used up the allocated 10GB of international data they can then purchase 300MB daily data bundles at R300 per bundle for the remainder of the contract period," the company says.

"We understand that businesses are looking to compete on the global stage and international data connectivity has been notoriously high. With Pocket Wi-Fi travelling business people can stay connected at more affordable data rate available," says Johann Henning, Managing Director of Telkom Business.

"We have also introduced the Telkom Pocket Wi-Fi app to ensure that our customers can track their international data usage in near real time, allowing complete control of their mobile data costs while travelling," he added.
