Datatec acquires UK intelligence consultancy

International Information and Communication Technology (ICT) group, Datatec announced that its subsidiary, Logicalis has acquired Trovus.

Trovus is a UK business intelligence consultancy, which provides business insight solutions, professional services and managed services to large enterprise clients.

In a statement Johannesburg- and London-listed Datatec said Trovus’ analytics solutions equip its customers with rapid access to actionable business insights from existing data within their own businesses.

The combination will enable Logicalis to significantly increase the depth of its business intelligence engagement model whilst retaining its focus on licence and supporting infrastructure sales, reads the statement.

Jens Montanana, Datatec's chief executive officer commented, “This acquisition of Trovus supports our strategic goal of growing annuity revenue streams within the business. Trovus has highly specialised skills.

"The acquisition will strengthen Logicalis’ business analytics and information management offering to existing customers and open new doors in the information insights and big data markets.”

Meanwhile, last year Logicalis also acquired 100% of the issued share capital of Inforsacom Holding GmbH.

At the time of the announcement Datatec said the acquisition would enhance Logicalis' scale and capabilities in the German ICT market.
