Airtel Zambia has had another service disruption, leaving customers unhappy.

This is the second such incident in as many months, the last disruption prompted authorities to compel the mobile operator to compensate clients.

The most recent disruption occurred before the weekend, and while the firm stated that normal service had been restored, several services remained unavailable at the time of publication.

Sending money from bank to wallet, making payments to national power utility, ZESCO, and pay-TV DSTV, and utilising partner USSD codes were among the services disrupted.

Yuno Nachali-Kambikambi, Airtel Zambia's head of corporate communications, stated, "Airtel Networks Zambia Plc has restored all service applications that have not been unavailable due to a system failure."

"The company would like to sincerely apologise to its esteemed customers for the inconvenience that this (outage) caused and highly appreciates the patience and support shown by all our valued customers."

Customers, however, were inconvenienced because the Airtel Money Mastercard was still unavailable.

Airtel conceded and stated, "We will notify you (clients) once the service is restored."
