One Channel conventions show the way forward for mid-market business in Africa

One Channel, a division of Expertech ERP runs Business Software end-user events in most southern African cities and regions. Most recently, conventions were held in Cape Town, Gaborone and Durban with more than 200 C-level executives, industry experts and Independent Software Vendors in attendance.

Attendees were exposed to several exciting new technologies that are extending the range of traditional Accounting and ERP systems such as Mobile Service Technicians, Mobile Merchandising, Mobile Sales, Electronic Document Delivery and Management, Business Process Automation and Asset tracking via barcode and RFID.

Sage ERP presented the Sage 300 ERP and Sage X3 ERP roadmaps as well as Sage's plans to pour huge R&D funding into Sage 300 ERP to make it Sage's global Cloud ERP offering within the next three years.

Bernard Ford, CEO of One Channel explained how business software users needed to react to global mega-trends such as Mobile Data Access, e-Tailing and the move to Cloud-based software deployment.  Clive Kangisser, Business Development Director at One Channel and Expertech ERP explained  the importance of deploying best-of-breed and integrated add-on software solutions and why it has become far more important than which core ERP system was in use.

A total of 326 independent enquiries for new products were received on the pre-printed feedback forms and One Channel staff are engaged in meetings with all the respondents.

One Channel will be hosting similar events in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Kenya as well as Port Elizabeth, East London and Johannesburg in the next six months.
