Media24 gives e-commerce a helping hand with 'Efinity'

Delivering orders, monitoring stock levels and managing the warehousing of products are among issues that e-commerce businesses have to worry about.

But South Africa's Media24 has developed a solution called Efinity that plans to be a one-stop shop for all these services.

Efinity provides a sophisticated fulfillment service to small, medium and big e-commerce merchants. Therefore, the Efinity solution is intended to act as an extension of the merchant's own website.

"At Media24 we are uniquely positioned to have the resources and expertise to create powerful infrastructure that can scale seamlessly; to warehouse, manage and distribute stock," says the chief information officer of e-commerce at Media24, Jonathan Muir.

"Importantly, Efinity is designed to facilitate online retail cost-effectively through a pay-as-you-go pricing model," adds Muir.

More specific features of the service include taking and delivering orders, monitoring stock levels and manages the warehousing of the products.

According to Efinity's developers, e-commerce in South Africa is growing at a rate of 30% annually and is projected to grow even faster as barriers to entry fall away.
