The Global Startup Awards Africa invites African innovators and startups to enter the 2024 edition.

The Global Startup Awards Africa is calling on African innovators and entrepreneurs to enter the 2024 edition of the competition before the deadline of 5 May 2024.

The award categories are dedicated to tackling major global challenges and aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and the African Union Agenda. They include green-tech, health-tech, mobility and logistics, agri-tech, fintech, and women in tech.

A Youth Startup category has also been added, for entrants under the age of 26. This is in recognition of Africa as the youngest continent globally, boasting 60% of its population under 25 years old.

The competition will see winners embark on a journey through national and regional levels, before converging at the GSA Africa Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The GSA Africa Summit is a week-long festival where delegates can network, and showcase their innovations.

According to the statement from organisers, the summit will also be attended by ambassadors, foreign investors, corporate leaders, and government players.

Winners will also have access to the Global Innovation Initiative Group Africa fund and the Global Startup Awards Alumni Network, which, say the organisers, provide networking and mentorship opportunities, with regional and global players.

Applications close on 5 May, with only finalised applications eligible to progress to the next round. The application process is free. For more information and to apply, visit www.globalstartupawardsafrica.com
