Asus to introduce innovative gadgets in Kenya
Computer and tablet manufacturer Asus has announced its intentions to introduce new gadgets, including gaming products, into the Kenyan marketing and diversify its offerings.
Asus will launch Zenfone 2 (a Smartphone), Transformer Book T300 Chi (an ultrathin 2-in-1 laptop) and a gaming PC machine by mid-2015.
The Zenfone, which has been released worldwide, has the latest Android OS v5.0, Lollipop and it is expected to give big brands some competition with its global mid-price point of approximately US$ 236. The Transformer book T300 gives users the option to use it as a laptop or tablet.
"Part of our strategy for this year will be to try and introduce locally the innovations that have already been unveiled elsewhere in more developed markets-almost concurrently. This is because we believe that consumer's needs are becoming similar in a more globalised world," Chris Wen, ASUS Kenya Country Product Manager said.
He added that, "The tech products in 2015 will be geared towards application of the innovative demands of the consumers as opposed to knowledge of the trends. The products that we'll be introducing meet this demand."
Asus unveiled all its new products earlier this month during this year's International CES in Las Vegas, US and won several awards on design of their products.
Wen said that the announcement of the product line-up shows Asus' commitment in advancing tech innovations in the gaming, Smartphone and PC industries in Kenya.
