Safaricom in Kenya has created a new engagement platform to assist Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in scaling their enterprises.

Known as "Grow with Safaricom Business," the telecom company stated in a statement that the platform will offer MSMEs in Kenya an opportunity to share information and collaborate on significant advancements in the digital economy.

The engagement forums will take the form of a series of workshops and seminars hosted throughout the year in which MSMEs will share ideas on how to use digital technology to expand their market reach, streamline operations, and establish a strong online brand presence.

The areas of focus will include cloud solutions, cyber security solutions, internet for business, internet of things, and M-Pesa for Business.

Experts will advise the businesses through regulatory obligations to ensure compliance and long-term growth.

"Safaricom recognises the critical role that MSMEs play in fostering economic growth and prosperity in Kenya,” Safaricom's chief enterprise business officer, Cynthia Kropac, remarked.

She added: "Through the Grow with Safaricom Business series, we aim to empower MSMEs with the knowledge and skills that can help them sustainably accelerate their growth and overcome challenges such as operational digitization, limited market access, regulatory barriers, brand building, and a lack of digital marketing skills.

"We want to grow this series to offer an opportunity for MSMEs to leverage on our extensive network, experience, and commitment to innovation to grow and thrive in this digital era."
