Nsano, a Ghanaian fintech business, has expanded its operations to East Africa by establishing a regional office in Rwanda after receiving Payment Aggregation and Payment Remittances Service Licences (Category II and III) from the Central Bank.

The move follows the fintech's strategic alliance with Arab Financial Services, a Middle Eastern and African digital payment solutions provider and fintech enabler.

Nsano asserts that its customer-centric strategy focusses on having coverage across the continent, which is critical to providing customers with market synergies that will allow them to scale, with Rwanda positioning itself as a fintech hub in East Africa due to progressive regulations and a thriving digital ecosystem.

“We commend the National Bank of Rwanda for a seamless and transparent process in acquiring our licence. Rwanda represents one of the fastest growing technology hubs in Africa and this aligns perfectly with our mission to be Africa’s premier digital payment processor,” said Priscilla Hazel, group CEO of Nsano.
