Tunisia plans to host a deep tech, AI summit next week

The summit aims to improve investment processes on the African continent, with a special emphasis on growth-stage start-ups.

Tunisia is preparing to host the AfricArena Tunis Deep Tech & AI Summit next week, October 15-16.

The event will bring together corporates and financiers investing in the African continent's tech ecosystem, as well as entrepreneurs from all around Africa.

The summit aims to improve investment processes on the African continent, with a special emphasis on growth-stage start-ups.

Over the course of two days, this summit brings together more than 20 of Africa's most notable start-ups and over 100 investors from across the world, providing a platform to showcase Africa's unique potential.

The keynote speakers include Abderrahmane Chaoui, CEO of Sendemo, Yassine Oussaifi, partner at AfricInvest Group, Bilel Khlaifia, CTO at Nextav, and Henri Zietsman, senior start-up business development manager at Amazon Web Services.

AfricArena, the organisers, stated: We eagerly anticipate playing a role in elevating the continent's rapidly growing tech ecosystem. We believe that a pan-African collaborative approach, which leverages and shares innovations across various hubs in Africa, will continue to foster an environment that drives positive change in our world.”

The event begins with the VC Unconference, a two-day program for investors in an informal setting where they can exchange ideas and thoughts on critical challenges affecting the African start-up and tech ecosystem in order to enhance it.

Next up is the AfricArise Tunis Founders' Bootcamp, a two-day workshop for start-ups that accelerates founder expertise in critical areas that are sometimes missed by other incubation programs.

“The Founder’s Deal Flow Bootcamp accelerates founders' knowledge in crucial areas often overlooked by other incubation programs, equipping them for future investor interactions, networking, and collaborations. Alongside interactive workshops, founders can also connect with peers and founders from across Africa through a series of events and activities during the boot camp,” said AfricArena.
