Mercia Jennings takes charge of NEC Mauritius
Mercia Jennings has been appointed country manager for NEC XON's newly established Mauritius operation
According to the business, her 'strategic vision' will drive NEC's growth, innovation, and market presence in Mauritius and the rest of the Indian Ocean region.
Smart cities, public safety, and infrastructure development will be the primary focus, according to NEC.
The company says Jennings has been a client-facing technology specialist for the past twelve years, most recently serving as a key account executive at NEC XON in South Africa.
NEC explains: “She has managed Key Accounts such as South Africa’s State Information Technology Agency and the Department of Higher Education. More recently she has represented NEC XON in the service provider industry with clients like Seacom, Vox Telecom and Frogfoot.
“Key projects she’s worked on include helping Seacom to build a WDM transmission and IP network in South Africa and East Africa, and helping Liquid Intelligent Technologies build Microsoft Data Centres in Johannesburg and Cape Town.”
“It’s time for new challenges,” says Jennings, “and I look forward to working in the enterprise space.”
Johann Coetzee, executive vice president of NEC XON, believes Jennings will be critical to NEC Mauritius becoming an important player in stimulating digital transformation and technological innovation in Mauritius and across the region.
He says: "She will drive our own growth by positioning NEC Mauritius to play a crucial role in Mauritius’ digital transformation."
