Kirusa partners with Vodacom in the DRC
Voice messaging and social media mobile apps firm, Kirusa announced that it will be launching its service, InstaVoice Sports, on the Vodacom network in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to a statement the service allows Vodacom subscribers to connect with and receive daily updates about their favorite soccer clubs and teams.
The service is set to be available across Congo on both smartphones and feature phones, the statement notes.
The service, offered in partnership with goal.com, the leading soccer portal worldwide, includes frequent updates about various European clubs, such as Barcelona, Manchester United, and Chelsea, and about various African national teams.
The updates are available in English and French languages, the statement reads.
Olivier Ngyala, senior manager VAS & business development said, "InstaVoice Sports is a first-of-its-kind service being launched in DRC. With the country soaked in football fever around the year, we are looking at the mobile medium aggressively to increase our reach to soccer fans."
Kirusa's vice president of operations, Barinderpal Singh Mumick added, "We intend to bring quality sports news to our mobile subscribers, irrespective of whether they use a smartphone or a feature phone.
"With InstaVoice Sports, users can access an exhaustive range of sports news. We are delighted to partner with Vodacom to deliver this compelling service to their subscribers in Democratic Republic of Congo."
