Dr Moloi-Motsepe to headline innovation event in Rwanda
Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe will give the keynote address at the Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) in Rwanda.
The AWIEF2023 conference and awards ceremony will be held on November 9 and 10, 2023, at the Kigali Convention Centre in Kigali, Rwanda, in collaboration with Rwanda's Ministry of ICT and Innovation, the Private Sector Federation Rwanda and the Rwanda Convention Bureau.
Dr Moloi-Motsepe is a co-founder of the Motsepe Foundation, one of the continent's largest foundations. She is also the chancellor of the University of Cape Town and the founder of African Fashion International (AFI), an internationally affiliated organisation that advocates and facilitates the entry of African creatives into global markets.
The AWIEF Conference, now in its ninth year, is an African entrepreneurship event, providing a platform to thought leaders, policymakers, development partners, and stakeholders in the African entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem to discuss Africa's economic development challenges and proposing inclusive solutions.
Dr Moloi-Motsepe stated about her participation in AWIEF2023: "If we work together and act decisively, we can achieve gender equality in our lifetimes. Using the digital economy's power to encourage African female entrepreneurship and innovation is a critical component of this journey. I'm looking forward to AWIEF2023, and I'm honoured to be a part of it. Let us take use of this opportunity to meet, learn, collaborate, and inspire, and thereby develop the momentum we need to empower all African women."
"We are honoured and excited at the participation of Dr Moloi-Motsepe in AWIEF2023, an exemplary global philanthropist and businesswoman," said Irene Ochem, founder and CEO of AWIEF. "She is a major champion and driving force for women's advancement in leadership and gender equality, and she acts as an inspiration and role model for women in business."
