Vodacom offers connected car tracker in Lesotho
Vodacom Lesotho this week debuted Connected Car, a smart car tracker with Wi-Fi, which it claims will improve vehicle security and fleet management.
Vodacom's partnership with Mafube ICT Solutions resulted in the Connected Car solution, which the telco described as part of its efforts to empower local enterprises.
According to Mohale Ralebitso, CEO of Vodacom Lesotho, the solution brings the "future of vehicle management into the present realm, empowering Basotho to safeguard their assets".
He added that the offering demonstrates the telecom provider's commitment to making the Internet of Things a reality and growing digital transformation in the Kingdom of Lesotho.
Ralebitso said: “We believe that by connecting people, businesses, assets and devices, we are creating a smarter, more efficient, and more prosperous digital future for Lesotho.
“We are creating a vast network of data and insights that can be used to improve transportation, enhance safety, and drive economic growth.”
The unveiling of Vodacom Lesotho’s Connected Car follows a recent visit by Shameel Joosub, CEO of the Vodacom Group, who committed to join forces with locals to build the Kingdom’s digital economy and create opportunities for young people.
