French telecommunications firm Orange has released the statistics on the best selling products from its online store in South Africa for the fourth and final quarter of 2015, which show that smartphones have once again moved into the top selling positions.

"The holiday period between November and January traditionally results in a significant increase in product sales. Sales over the 2015/2016 holiday period exceeded our expectations, despite the falling Rand," explains Blake Levitan, Orange Horizons country manager for South Africa.

"Owing to the fact that our pricing remains live, the prices of imported items are affected by the exchange rate and fluctuations in the strength of the rand. However, given our competitive pricing on a wide range of smartphones, and the number of South African smartphone users rising steadily each year, we are not surprised that smartphones have once again dominated our online sales."

As expected, the holiday season produced interesting results in terms of our best selling products, with some new comers being added to the list," says Levitan.

According to Orange, the top selling products within the quarter were:
