Langa Dube, Country Head and Executive Director, Tata Consultancy Services South Africa.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched its AI platform for Africa, TCS AI WisdomNext, a cloud-agnostic innovation seeking to integrate multiple GenAI models and cloud services.

The AI platform was launched at the AWS Summit 2024 hosted recently in Johannesburg.

According to TCS, 69% of businesses are more focused on using AI to spur innovation and increase revenue, than on productivity improvement and cost optimisation.

The company adds that while 57% are excited about AI's potential, there's a clear understanding that the road to AI-driven transformation will not be without its bumps.

TCS’ platform features intuitive interface and pre-built solutions enables the elimination of specialised AI expertise, allowing organisations to deploy and scale AI-powered applications, simplifying adoption.

The company says the TCS AI WisdomNext platform can be used across various sectors including financial services, healthcare, retail and manufacturing.

Langa Dube, country head and executive director of TCS South Africa said: “We believe that GenAI holds immense potential for Africa, we're breaking down barriers and empowering businesses across the continent to harness the power of this transformative technology, regardless of their size or industry."

"In the past, adopting AI required significant investment and specialised skills, "WisdomNext changes that. It provides a user-friendly platform that allows businesses to easily experiment with, deploy, and benefit from Generative AI without the traditional barriers to entry, " he added.
