Liferay named a Leader in 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Experience Platforms
Recognised as a Leader for the ninth consecutive time, Liferay helps organisations to deliver consistent brand experiences across devices and to better engage with customers.
Liferay, which makes software that helps companies create digital experiences on Web, mobile and connected devices, today announced that Gartner has recognised the company as a Leader in the Magic Quadrant for Digital Experience Platforms.*
In the report, Liferay is positioned in the Magic Quadrant (MQ) among a field of 17 vendors, based on its completeness of vision and ability to execute. Liferay Digital Experience Platform (DXP) and Liferay DXP Cloud were assessed as part of the company's evaluation.
Gartner defines a DXP as "an integrated set of technologies that support the composition, management, delivery and optimisation of contextualised digital experiences". The firm recognised Liferay as a Leader for the ninth consecutive time in the 2019 Magic Quadrant for DXPs (formerly known by Gartner as the Magic Quadrant for Horizontal Portals).
With hundreds of customers around the world in verticals, including financial services, insurance, healthcare and government, Liferay has been at the forefront of helping organisations to deliver consistent brand experiences across devices and to better engage with their customers.
Last year, Liferay released the latest version of its flagship product, Liferay DXP 7.1, along with three brand new products: Liferay Analytics Cloud, which helps organisations to better understand their customers' journeys and gain insights into how their content performs; Liferay Commerce, a digital commerce offering tailored for Liferay DXP and Liferay DXP Cloud; and enterprise PaaS, providing organisations with the capability to deploy Liferay DXP in the cloud within a managed environment.
"We are delighted to have been selected as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Experience Platforms for the ninth time in a row," said Ed Chung, vice-president of global product management at Liferay.
"We feel Gartner's research validates our belief that future success belongs to businesses that invest in understanding their customers' journeys and that provide them with the best experience across touchpoints. We believe Liferay DXP provides the key foundational pieces that businesses need to orchestrate these experiences, improve them over time and meet the varied needs of their customers at every step."
According to Gartner, "a DXP acts as a centre of gravity in a complex, extensive and interconnected technology landscape". Additionally, "DXP capabilities include experience composition and orchestration, management and delivery, complemented by analytics and customer data management. Many DXPs also incorporate artificial intelligence and machine learning into their products. Multichannel support remains critical across all channels, both mainstream (Web, mobile Web) and emerging (IOT, VR/AR, wearables, conversational interfaces, etc)."
With Liferay DXP, organisations are able to build and deploy intranets, Web sites and customer and partner portals from a single platform designed to be flexible and integration-friendly from the start, while minimising the need for IT involvement in areas such as content creation.
