MTN Zambia appoints chief FinTech officer

MTN Zambia has appointed Komba Malukutila as Chief FinTech Officer effective 1 February 2020.

According to a statement from the company, Malukutila served as General Manager: Enterprise Business within MTN Zambia.

"Malukutila brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the new role gleaned over a 10-year career within the telecommunications industry with a track-record of driving business strategy for growth, as well as developing high-performing teams," the company stated.

The company describes Malukutila as "a dynamic telecommunication professional with over 12 years work experience within Commercial and Technology functional streams" and someone who has led various portfolios within MTN including Product Development, Marketing and Enterprise Business.

Malukutila holds a Telecoms MBA from the Telecoms Academy, South Africa and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of Greenwich, England.

Commenting on the appointment, MTN Zambia chief executive officer Bart Hofker said, "In the period that I have worked with Komba, he has shown strong customer focus, result driven and a lot of positive energy: he is a pleasure to work with. I would like to congratulate Komba on this appointment and I wish him all the success in this new role."
