In the year that Vodacom Mozambique celebrates its 20 year anniversary in the country, it has launched 5G services.

Vodacom, which started operating in Mozambique in December 2003, has said it is now offering initial 5G services at selected sites in Maputo, Matola; the central area of Nampula; downtown Nacala, Munhava, Maquinino and Chipanga neighbourhoods, Beira and Tete.

Dejan Kastelic, Vodacom Group chief technology officer, yesterday congratulated the Vodacom Mozambique team in a LinkedIn post saying: “The provision of 5G services in Mozambique is expected to introduce exciting opportunities for technological innovation, business solutions as well as the expansion of IoT use cases. 5G connectivity brings wider network coverage, reliable network connections and faster data transfer.”

Vodacom, which operates in seven African countries, says it is excited to bring quality network connectivity to communities across Africa, bringing individuals and businesses closer to the global digital economy.
