Vodafone Egypt, Ericsson to build 4G infrastructure

Telecommunications company Ericsson has been contracted by Vodafone Egypt to roll-out network infrastructure that is capable of offering a 4G network.

Ericsson will deploy its latest RBS 6000 technology, which comprises an energy-efficient, compact site solution that supports GSM, EDGE, WCDMA, HSPA and LTE in a single package.

"Vodafone in Egypt is witnessing a major upsurge in both voice and data services, and to ensure we provide the best experience to our customers we need to keep investing in the latest technology innovations with our partner, Ericsson,” said Tony Dolton, chief technology officer of Vodafone Egypt, in a statement.
