Millicom announces new GM for Tigo Ghana

African and Latin American telecommunications and media company Millicom has announced a new country manager for its mobile network Tigo Ghana.

Roshi Motman has taken over from Adil El Youssefi as general manager (GM) at Tigo Ghana.

Tigo Ghana has 14% share of of the West African country’s mobile market with around 4 million connections.

Tigo is also Ghana’s third largest mobile network after MTN and Vodafone, according to the country’s National Communications Authority (NCA).

Motman; then, has taken the GM post as of 1 April, after she worked from almost ten years with various companies in the Kinnevik Group, a key investor in Millicom.

Her experience has included management roles at Tele2 in Sweden while she studied Electrical Engineering and Business Development at Chalmers University in Göteborg, Sweden.

“Roshi takes the helm as Tigo continues its journey of transformation as a digital lifestyle company. We are looking forward to benefiting from her track record of innovative and customer centric leadership,” said Arthur Bastings, Millicom’s executive vice-president for Africa, in a press statement.

Millicom, which is headquartered in Luxembourg, operates in seven African markets under the Tigo brand: Rwanda, Tanzania, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Mauritius and Senegal.
