K3 Telecom, the latest entrant into Liberia's telecoms market, is positioning its offer of Triple Play technology to secure an early foothold within the market and meet an increasing local demand for connectivity services.

Switzerland-based K3 Telecom is the global provider of Triple Play, a patented technology that simultaneously delivers high-speed internet, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephony, and TV content.

Ernest Boakai, Group CEO of K3 Telecom Liberia, said, "We are very glad that with the help of the government we succeeded to bring new services and introduced the first 'wireless' cable in the air broadband network in the country."

Boakai added: "This will create substantial growth in the country and satisfy the rising demand by the Liberian people, investors, SMEs and government for high-speed internet and reliable internet services."

According to Boakai, the company has spent approximately US$5 million in Liberia and there are plans to increase the investment.

He announced that the monthly cost of the Triple Play service package (comprising the internet, digital TV and IP telephony), peaks at US$88 monthly.

Vice President of Liberia, Joseph N. Boakai, Added, "The coming of K3 Telecom to Liberia will help solve the internet barriers that Liberians are going through and most of our investment partners always told us that the country is a gateway to investment. Government will ensure that the company is fully protected, investment-wise."
