Cloud-native SD-WAN-as-a-Service vendor Adaptiv Networks has partnered 4Voice, a SMB-focused provider of cloud-based, customised business phone solutions, to bolster SD-WAN solution roll out in Africa.

Through the alliance, 4Voice will offer its VoIP solutions on “Adaptiv’s cloud-managed, highly reliable SD-WAN solutions.”

The companies explain that Adaptiv’s innovative bi-directional QoS technology protects voice and video call quality over broadband. “So, when teamed with 4Voice, Adaptiv provides an unbreakable internet and voice service that includes seamless failover, QoS, and voice/video prioritisation,” they claim.

Adaptiv considers Africa to be an important market because of the need for bandwidth speed and because reliability remains a challenge for many businesses on the continent.

There are SD-WAN use cases in Africa. In Kenya, for example, SD-WAN infrastructure is being rolled out in the transport sector to control connections and services between datacentres, cloud infrastructure etc. The objective is to enhance existing network infrastructure, including speed, visibility and performance.

The company points to the use of its technology by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to bring internet communication to remote areas on the continent.

The organisation sought a solution to aggregate over 1Gbps of bandwidth from multiple ISPs for future needs. ELFIQ by Adaptiv Networks’ Link Balancer was selected for its ability to meet current and future requirements.

Bernard Breton, CEO of Adaptiv Networks, added: "4Voice’s customised business phone solutions provide modern features, and their use of cloud technology keeps costs predictable and manageable for their customers. We have similar goals of delivering cloud-managed Adaptiv SD-WAN-as-a-Service to small and medium enterprise markets with a focus on simplicity, performance, and cost-effectiveness. That alignment will benefit 4Voice’s customers.”

“As a full-service, white-glove provider of VoIP for small and medium-sized businesses, it is critical for us to provide highly reliable yet cost-effective voice solutions,” said Amruth Laxman, Founding Partner of 4Voice. “Adaptiv Networks is a great fit for our business customers because of its focus on economical network reliability. Their seamless, fast SD-WAN failover capability will ensure that our customers’ voice calls are not dropped when a link outage occurs.”

Adaptiv offers cloud-managed business connectivity solutions backed by the largest patent portfolio in the SD-WAN industry. The company operates in a 100% channel go-to-market strategy and provides training and marketing content to help its resellers communicate the value of SD-WAN to their customers.
