Westcon Sub-Saharan Africa appointed Mitel distributor

Westcon-ComstorSub-Saharan Africa has been appointed as a distributor for Mitel communications technologies in Sub-Saharan Africa.

According to a statement issued by the companies, Westcon resellers will be able to procure the full range of Mitel technologies, including business phones, integrated business communication platforms and cloud solutions.

Ruan Adlem, Channel Manager for Westcon-Comstor Sub-Saharan Africa, said the level of demand for-and adoption of UC collaboration technology has grown significantly, due to several factors, most notably that data infrastructure has become more widely accessible and affordable.

"UC adoption has become a much more viable and affordable option, not just for individuals, but also for businesses. Also the demand for accessing information instantly over various platforms, from just one device has increased the need for UC," said Adlem.

As a Mitel Authorised Training Partner Westcon will deliver certified training, based on the need for partners to stay abreast of Mitel's evolving technology and products.

Adlem says the short-term objectives are to fill the gap in the small-to-medium business channel space and hospitality vertical in particular, by being competitive on pricing, and the intention is to partner with other "strategic vendors" to introduce bundled offerings.

"This is an exciting new strategic partnership for Westcon-Comstor," commented Rakesh Parbhoo CEO Westcon-Comstor Sub Saharan Africa. "Our business has always been focused on helping partners develop profitable business through a combination of global supply chain capabilities and channel support across our core technology specialisations. Our services, support and digital distribution expertise will enable partners to succeed in both today's market and the future as we transition to an increasingly software-driven world with new procurement and consumption models.''

"By cementing a relationship with Mitel, we believe our customers will now be able to add an impressive range of communications and collaboration technologies to their existing offerings," added Parbhoo. "We will work closely with Mitel to help channel partners develop their business as well as highlight how the solutions within the vendor's portfolio can leverage its technologies to digitally transform their business."

Andy Bull, managing director at Mitel South Africa, said, "To drive Mitel's and channel partners' growth and success in a rapidly changing and competitive landscape, the speed and simplicity of our go-to-market model are essential. Through our partnership with Westcon-Comstor, Mitel resellers will be able to quickly and easily take advantage of both our world-class UCC solutions and Westcon's superior service to better support customers on their digital transformation journey".
