Pinnacle Africa to distribute ePMP in South Africa

Established Southern African ICT distributor Pinnacle Africa has announced its appointment as a master distributor for ePMP in South Africa by wireless broadband solution provide Cambium Networks.

In an announcement Cambium Networks explains that the ePMP platform meets a need for reliable, high-quality broadband connectivity that can be rapidly deployed and expanded. "The ePMP platform provides stable coverage across large service areas and enhances your existing infrastructure," the company states.

Enterprise Brand Executive Manager at Pinnacle Africa Gerhard Gouws is excited about the benefits that the ePMP range will bring to resellers and their consumers. "This master distribution partnership will bring cutting-edge wireless broadband solutions to our partners and their customers," he said.

The ePMP platform incorporates three new offerings: ePMP GPS Sync Access Point (AP) Lite, ePMP Force 180 5 GHz subscriber module and ePMP Force 200 2.4 GHz subscriber module.

Atul Bhatnagar, president and CEO, Cambium Networks. "By presenting network operators with an increasingly varied and affordable portfolio, we are enhancing our ability to customise connectivity suiting our customers' current needs and future demands."

Ettienne Joubert, Enterprise Wireless Projects manager at Pinnacle Africa, says the company has always had a predominantly Enterprise Outdoor Wireless offering and the Cambium products provide an 'across the board' offering.

"We are now able to offer indoor Wi-Fi as well as lower cost outdoor Wi-Fi competing with the likes of Ubiquiti which has been a major player in this market. ePMP is designed and manufactured by Cambium which has a rich history of Wireless (coming from Motorola)," says Joubert.

"In the Wireless market, we find that customers are always looking for something better but don't want to pay enterprise level prices. Through this agreement our customers will now receive enterprise level quality and support at a fraction of the cost at which high end enterprise equipment sells for," he adds.
