Kindle Paperwhite available in South Africa

Amazon’s latest version of its e-reader, the Kindle Paperwhite, is now available at various retail stores across South Africa.

According to a statement, the Kindle Paperwhite is the 6th generation of Amazon’s popular e-reader device and the most advanced Kindle that has been launched so far.

The device boasts features such as better display technology; next generation built-in light, a faster processor as well as new reading features like Kindle page flip, smart lookup, and vocabulary builder.

Kindle’s vice president Dave Limp said, “Kindle is the best-selling e-reader family in the world for six years running.”

He added, “The new Kindle Paperwhite has brand-new display technology, the next generation of our built-in light, a faster processor, plus new features like Kindle Page Flip and Vocabulary Builder. We are excited to make Kindle Paperwhite available to customers in South Africa.”

Retail outlets such as Incredible Connections, Game and DionWired are planned to stock the e-reading device.

Customers can purchase the Kindle Paperwhite Wi-Fi + 3G at a retail price of R3,299, while the Kindle Paperwhite Wi-Fi only will retail at R2,499.
