Vodacom Business awarded local hosting contract for Kaseya IT service management cloud offering

Vodacom Business has been awarded a contract to host the Kaseya IT Center family of cloud-based IT service delivery products specifically developed for IT managed service organisations and internal IT departments.

Garth Hayward, Regional Manager for Kaseya Africa, says: “Our decision to have Vodacom Business host our offering brings with it the substantial upfront cost savings for customers who require an advanced automated IT service management platform for which Kaseya is internationally recognised as the leader.

“The cost savings and speed to deployment for customers is inherently built into a cloud offering; however, having the cloud based locally offers clients additional savings related to the high cost associated with accessing international bandwidth.”

The IDG in its recent 2011 top 10 IT market predictions for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, stated that part of the strong growth expected in the region will be through the accelerated adoption of cloud services led by South Africa as its appetite for public cloud services increases. IDG predicts the African IT market will grow 9% to beyond US$10 billion in 2011.

“This is an incredibly exciting, dynamic time for the IT services market in Africa, and our relationship with Vodacom Business and continued investment into Africa represents our confidence in the region.”

The Kaseya cloud-based systems management solutions are powerful, reliable and affordable tools for any IT professional. The capabilities can be easily and rapidly deployed, helping IT organisations avoid the setup and cost of hardware and software, while increasing the productivity of all IT personnel.

The Kaseya cloud-based IT Center functions include:

* Discovery and IT inventory
* Patch management
* Help-desk
* Performance, SNMP and log monitoring
* Agent IT automation procedures
* Management reporting
* Live connect remote access
* IT service delivery kit
* Support for servers, workstations and notebooks running Windows or Mac OS X

“Customers simply register at http://www.kaseya.co.za/itcenter, trial the product free for 30 days and if they are happy, then subscribe on a pay-as-you-go basis for the number of devices they need to manage on a monthly basis. This makes Kaseya's solution exceptionally attractive for Africa.”

“As the leaders in cloud computing, we are excited to welcome Kaseya and their users into our cloud,” says Ermano Quartero, Managing Executive at Vodacom Business. “Kaseya's management have fully grasped the concept of cloud computing and the opportunities for their customers. We look forward to a long a fruitful relationship.”
