MTN Group's new GM for enterprise business

The MTN Group has appointed Debbie Minnaar, a former executive at IBM South Africa, as General Manager for Products and Services within its Group Enterprise Business Unit.

According to a press release from the mobile operator the appointment, effective immediately, is a move to strengthen the Company's position within the enterprise business segment.

Minnaar will be responsible for determining MTN's ICT offering to enterprise customers across the MTN Business footprint in Africa and the Middle East. She will also help the company to identify key partnerships around Cloud and other services.

"To adequately support our enterprise customers with their ICT requirements, we need to offer them relevant solutions that don't only enable their businesses, but inspire their growth as well. I believe that in Debbie, we have someone with a clear understanding of what is required to achieve that. She has the relevant experience, calibre of talent and skill set to give MTN Business and our customers the edge," says Mteto Nyati, MTN Group Chief Enterprise Officer.

In addition to her extensive experience in the IT industry, gained across products, services and solutions, Minnaar has an MBA and Bachelors of Commerce degree.

During her 24-year tenure at IBM, she established subsidiaries in 35 new territories across Africa and the Middle East, and co-developed a Growth Markets Strategy for China, India, Brazil, the Middle East and Africa.
